Sunday, September 22, I received a lifetime achievement award from Brooklyn College, my alma mater, at a post 50th Alumni Awards Ceremony and Luncheon. My mentor introduced me and added the publication of FLIRTING WITH DISASTER, a recent romantic thriller, to a list of other collateral publications and interviews of reknowned movers and shakers. I was so proud and so was my daughter who snapped some good photos I hope.
All the pomp and circumstance was followed by a lovely repast on white tablecloths adorned with bouquets of roses.
I was glad I had flown up from Florida, because I will always love New York City. It is because of the largess of the City Universities that I, and others, developed into an educated, poised class and succeeded in our careers. Free tuition enhanced a whole generation who otherwise would not have risen to the heights and prominence they have. The other winners were just as appreciative as me.
I enjoyed the theatre, the restaurants, Zabar's, the trip to see my new niece in Dumbo (Down Under the Brooklyn Bridge), the walk down Broadway. I will always love New York, although I've written a novel about Haiti.
Now, back to writing.
This blog is intended to broaden my contacts with people who like to read and write. I want to know what you're doing, where you're traveling , and how you managed to get published. We'll chat on the blog again. JSK

Tomorrow night I'm being interviewed by Hollywood Lee (lookatmecasting@gmail.com. Time 7:30pm.. I'm a little excited as I am also preparing for my trip to New York and my award for lifetime achievement from the Alumni of Brooklyn College, CCNY. Almost sure that FLIRTING WITH DISASTER had something to do with me being ultimately chosen. Tell you about it next week.
